"There is no beginning or end. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift." Author Unknown
You might want to take a moment and think about the above statement and here's why. Yesterday is gone. Was it a good day? Did the expectations or the fears you thought about manifest?
Tomorrow is a mystery. You can make tomorrow a good day by focusing on what you desire to have or on what type of person you want to become. A thought about tomorrow is this: we only have the moment we are in right now. At this very moment you are thinking about or creating with your magic wand something that will manifest minutes, hours, tomorrow or days from now. So, monitor your thinking!
Today is a gift. Today you are being, experiencing and/or receiving what you thought about, meditated on or focused on yesterday. :-)

Deer Creek Challenge by Virginia Temmer
The Deer Creek Challenge bicycle ride was
proposed for September 13, 2009. Jefferson County regulations require
any special permit that includes Deer Creek Canyon Road to be approved by
the county commissioners. The ride could have attracted an additional
3,000 people, including bicyclists, volunteers, and emergency staff on the
one day, but the permit was denied by the Jefferson County Commissioners.
Deer Creek Canyon is very popular with bicyclists
because of the same reasons we live here. The drive/ride up the canyon
is close to Denver, and picturesque. In some areas the road is too narrow
to be safe for two bicyclists (one going up, and one going down, in accordance
with the law), and two vehicles, (again, one going up, and one going down).
Safety in the canyon is the most important issue here. Changes to the bicycle laws were effective the first part of August, and we need to meet to discuss the impact on Deer Creek Canyon. We also need to analyze the most dangerous parts of the canyon, and recommend to the county how to address these dangerous parts.
Thanks to the group of residents that pitched in their time to analyze and organize the information about this ride to help the Commissioners vote for safety in the canyon on September 13, 2009.
Hogwarts
School Sessions
The 2009 Spring Session, June 13th, introduced the students to Hagrid's Garden, Edible Flowers, Egg in a Bottle and Talisman Shielding.
Professor Wanderoso launched this session by introducing the students to Hagrid's Garden. He explained what varieties of vegetables Hagrid had planted and how big the vegetables could get then gave the students the Rules of the garden. There was a pop quiz on the colors of the vegetables recently planted by Hagrid followed by a "Gigantigous" spell placed on the garden by all students and Professors.
Following the Introduction to Hagrid's Garden, the students learned about Edible Flowers from Professor Wysard. A beautiful variety of edible and non-edible flowers were shown to the students followed by an Herbal pop quiz. Willing students sampled a small piece of Cinnamon Basil as they walked to Potions class.
Professor Snuckle's Potion class was as fun and as educational as ever! This session, the students got hands-on experience with getting an egg into a bottle. Following Potions class were the Quidditch matches. After the matches but before the Championship Quidditch Tournament, Professor Wondyle and his assistant, Herb Green, instructed the students in Talisman Shielding. The students had to assemble an item they had not seen, a protective chain, by following Professor Wondyle's instructions. It was intriguing watching the students "listen to & follow instructions" then see the protective chain each had made.
After a delicious feast of chicken, potatoes, corn, and rolls, the Championship Quidditch Tournament Cup was awarded to the Ravenclaw House. They also won the House Cup! As per tradition, the students of the winning House were the first students allowed to indulge in the chocolate fountain.
The winning House Cup standings are as such: 2007 Summer Session, the Hufflepuff House; 2007 Fall Session, the Ravenclaw House; the 2008 Winter Session, the Hufflepuff House; and 2008 Spring Session, the Ravenclaw House; the 2008 Fall Session, the Slytherin House; the 2009 Winter Session, the Hufflepuff House; and the 2009 Spring Session, the Ravenclaw House.
The Championship Quidditch Tournament awards now stand as such: 2008 Spring Session, the Ravenclaw House; the 2008 Fall Session, the Gryffindor House; and the 2009 Spring Session, the Ravenclaw House.
And the Championship Wizard's Chess Tournament, played during the 2009 Winter Session, was skillfully won by the Slytherin House.
The many outstanding pictures of the Hogwarts events are on the club's website, www.sampsonclub.org. The 2009 Sessions are on the Current Year's Photo Album page and the photos of the 2007 and 2008 Sessions are in the Photo Album Archives.
Unfortunately,
due to medical emergencies, the Hogwarts Summer Session, "Wizard's Game
Day," Aug. 22nd, was canceled. The Hogwarts '09 Fall Session is scheduled
for Saturday, October the 10th.
