This is our 2009 Photo Album. It contains pictures of some of our 2009 community get-togethers.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, October 10th, Halloween at Hogwarts...
Sorting begins with
an Apparition in the middle of the first photo! 
After sorting,
Professor Dumbledore welcomes students but they are
distracted
by the Pumpkin Levitation demonstration given by 
Professor
Wysard.
Trivia
was conducted through
out the day
by
Professor Hopkirk.
Potions
Professor
Snuckle's cauldron "boils & bubbles" as she starts her Potions
class. This session, the students learned about Chromatography 
or separating colors in a green leaf. Paper filters captured the
colors which were separated out of the each different type of leaf.
The History of Halloween was
the subject matter in Professor
Wondyle's
Talisman Shielding
class. Ghost stories were shared by the students but had to
be told, "scarily," instructed Professor
Wondyle. 
Professor
Lucien 
shared
some Celtic Halloween history. The story of "The Great Pumpkin,"
who either bestowed gifts upon good students or left an empty pumpkin,
completed Professor
Wondyle's
class. The very large pumpkin, left by "The Great Pumpkin,"
was thrown into the air... 
...and
naturally, it
splattered open. From its contents, it is obvious, our students have been
good! 
Wizard's Chess
A
review of the Wizard's Chess Rules is conducted by Overseer Professor
Wanderoso. Wizard's Chess game #1 is played between the Hufflepuff and
the Ravenclaw Houses. 
The
Gryffindor and the Slytherin Houses play game #2. The Wizard's Chess
Championship match is thoughtfully played between the Ravenclaw and Slytherin
Houses. 
And once again, the Slytherin House wins!
During the second session of Trivia,
the students tried their hardest to stump
Professor Hopkirk. 
The
Feast & Awards 
"Lumpy" and
Professors
Wanderoso, Dumbledore, Wysard, Hopkirk, Lucien, Wondyle, and Snuckle.
The
Feast begins with chicken, potatoes, corn
and rolls. After
the Feast, each
player on the winning Wizard's Chess team, the Slytherin House, received
a Wizard's Chess trophy and the Prefect of the Slytherin House
was presented with the Wizard's Chess House Cup: a black, 
7-headed dragon. Next, the Prefect of the Ravenclaw House
was presented the House Cup and finally, as with all other sessions, the
House Cup winners are invited to indulge in the
"Chocolate" Fountain. Each student is invited to take
home a delicious chocolate frog 
and
a pumpkin or gourd from the bounty of Hagrid's
Garden.

Hogwarts Flag
Registration,
the
2009 Spring Session Class Photo,

Time is followed by attentive students listening to Professor Dumbledore's

This
session, something special was discussed: the House Elf's name.
Several names were suggested but only one received the unanimous
vote..."Winky." 
After long cheers and Winky's acceptance of her name,
classes begin...
Introduction
to Hagrid's Garden 
The Introduction to Hagrid's Garden 
included
a list of its many contents, what some varieties of vegetables should
look like, i.e., "Dinosaur Kale" and "Casper Pumpkins," 
a pop quiz, 
and
the Rules of Hagrid's Garden. At
the end of class, all
students and professors cast a "Giant" spell on Hagrid's Garden's
contents. 
The
"Giant" spell was lead by Professor
Wanderoso. 
Herbology
Herbology
class, taught by Professor Wysard (left)

was assisted by Professor Snuckle (right).
"Edible
Flowers" was the
subject discussed in Herbology class.

is the Ravenclaw House with 170 points.

Feast begins... 
and
ends with the "Chocolate" Fountain. In this case, it's
White Chocolate 
ready to smother cherries, strawberries, and marshmallows. The winner
of the House Cup is also the Ravenclaw House with 380 points.

a writing assignment. The assignment was to be written

the Magical Quills sent by
the Ministry of Magic.

After Wizard's Chess, a "Trivia Contest" is conducted by the Witch Illusionaria who has
5 (five!) pages of Trivia questions! 
And the majority of the students know the correct answers!

The students and staff end their day with a delicious banquet dinner in the great dining hall.
After
the Feast, the House Cup was awarded to the
Hufflepuff House because they accumulated
1350 points and the Wizard's Chess House Cup was awarded
to
the Slytherin House. 
Each
player on the winning Wizard's Chess team
also received a Wizard's Chess trophy. Congratulations to our winning
Houses!
